1818 · log church
Staro Selo, near Velika Plana
A monastery log church dedicated to the Translation of the Relics of Saint Nicholas, built in 1818. It was raised by Vujica Vulićević, prince of the Smederevo district, near the place where Karađorđe was killed (1817) — the name “Pokajnica” is interpreted as an act of repentance. One of the largest log churches in Serbia, with an iconostasis from the early 19th century. A cultural monument of exceptional importance. Administratively it belongs to the municipality of Velika Plana (Eparchy of Braničevo).
