How Palanka.rs handles data. We try to collect as little as possible.
Last updated: 26 July 2026
Palanka.rs is an independent information portal about Smederevska Palanka. For privacy questions you can contact us through our accounts on Instagram and Facebook.
We have no user accounts and no registration. We do not sell your data and we do not pass it on to third parties for marketing purposes, and we do not build personal profiles. We do not ask you for personal data in order for you to read the content.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) in order to understand how the site is used (number of visitors, popular pages). For that purpose Google may set cookies and process technical data, including a shortened IP address and data about the browser/device, in accordance with the Google privacy policy. You can block cookies in your browser settings or use the Google analytics opt-out add-on.
Saved pages, the chosen theme (light/dark) and dismissed notices are kept exclusively locally in your browser (localStorage). That data is not sent to us and you can delete it by clearing the site data in your browser.
When you use the reporting tool, we use the data you enter (location, optionally a photograph and a description) exclusively in order to forward the report to the competent service. EXIF data (including the hidden location) is removed from photographs. For the purpose of forwarding and of preventing abuse, reports and basic technical data (e.g. a shortened/hashed IP address for rate limiting) may be temporarily processed and stored.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we keep your email address exclusively in order to send you occasional news about updates and events. Subscribing is voluntary, and you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every message. The subscriber list and the sending are handled by our processor (Resend). If you submit an event, we use the data from the form (name, date, place, description and your contact email) exclusively in order to review the proposal and, if it is in order, publish it in the calendar — nothing is published automatically. To protect against abuse, the forms use technical measures (hidden fields, a timing check, an optional anti-bot challenge).
When you report on a departure card that a train or a bus is late, is running on time or has not arrived, we store only the departure identifier, the day, the type of report and the estimate in minutes. Alongside that, a salted hash is stored (an irreversible record derived from the IP address and browser data) — solely so that one device has one vote per departure and so that spam is prevented. The IP address is not stored, we do not build a user profile and the report is anonymous. Reports relate to a single day and are deleted after a few days.
Certain features rely on external services that have their own privacy policies: the weather forecast (open-meteo), videos (YouTube — we use the „nocookie" mode, the player loads only once you click on a video), maps (links to Google Maps), sending email and the newsletter (Resend) and, optionally, protection of forms against bots (Cloudflare Turnstile). When you open those services, their terms apply.
In accordance with the Serbian Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right of access to, rectification of and erasure of your data, as well as the right to object to processing. Since we do not keep accounts, in practice we most often do not hold data by which we could identify you; for any request, contact us through the channels in section 1.
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in force is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
See also the Terms of use.
In case of any discrepancy, the Serbian version prevails.
